I struggled so that you don’t have to
Long before I became a dietitian I was your average tree-hugging, animal-loving hippie. Things were going great until I developed multiple nutrient deficiencies, specifically iron and vitamin D. Unfortunately, the generic supplements the doctor put me on only made things worse. The iron wrecked my stomach, and the vitamin D was animal based and lacked vitamin K2 which is important for vegans. As a Black women, combined with being vegan, they failed to consider how those two major factors impacted my health and what I needed. Specifically, the higher risk of D deficiency as a Black person only gets higher when you throw veganism in the mix.
This started my journey to becoming a plant based dietitian. After I gained the knowledge and expertise to heal myself, I quickly got started healing others. I was determined to do everything in my power to prevent anyone else from having to endure what I endured. And just like that Bisa was born. A brand of vegan supplements made by a vegan dietitian, for the health of the people and the planet.
